Soitec's founder appointed chairman emeritus of the Soitec group

Bernin (Grenoble), France, September 15th, 2015 – Soitec (Euronext), a world leader in generating and
manufacturing revolutionary semiconductor materials, has announced that following the Board of
Directors’ meeting on September 11th, 2015 the Board of Directors has named André-Jacques Auberton-
Hervé as Chairman Emeritus of the Soitec Group, which he founded together with Jean-Michel Lamure in
1992.

André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé has retired from his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors, but
remains a director of the Soitec group.

The Board of Directors has appointed Paul Boudre as Chairman of Soitec’s Board of Directors.
