New employee orientation and career development

At Soitec, we invest heavily in our employees’ continuing professional development. The goal is to enable each and every Soitec employee to grow and learn according to his or her individual needs. We provide training in a wide variety of areas, from technical competencies directly related to an employee’s current position or broader profession through to cross-disciplinary skills coherent with certain types of positions or levels of responsibility within the organization. We also respond to employee requests for training under France’s Personal Training Credit program (Droit Individuel à la Formation).

Our continuing professional development policy places a particular emphasis on safety training and training related to our industry. However, we also provide employees with training in project management and innovation management through strategic competency-development programs, most of which are custom developed for specific groups. In some cases, one-on-one training may be provided.

All new hires begin their employment at Soitec with a personalized orientation program that takes place over several weeks. The purpose is to ensure that new hires rapidly settle in to their new positions. Employees also receive orientation services when they change positions within the company. The annual employee appraisal process takes over where orientation leaves off, providing employees and their direct supervisors with a regular opportunity to review individual professional development goals. The individual training plans that line managers create for their employees are part of a broader short- to long-term competency development strategy.

Career development

At Soitec, our company’s success depends on our employees’ expertise. We have set up a career development policy designed to support our employees’ professional growth.

Our policy meets a number of goals: guaranteeing that the company has access to the competencies it needs; using fair, uniform practices; and ensuring future employability for every member of the Soitec team. The policy also takes into account each employee’s potential, motivations, and career advancement goals.

Each year, 10% of our employees are promoted to positions of greater responsibility and another 10% move to different types of positions within the company.
