20% of the world’s population does not have access to electricity.
At Soitec, we believe that solar energy is the answer. The vast majority of the “electricity-poor” live in sunny areas where solar energy has the capacity to truly make a difference, bringing electricity to those who need it while helping curb climate change. However, the widespread adoption of solar energy requires both technological innovation and a concerted effort to drive local development.
Today, Soitec is launching the first edition of its Sunidarity program for development aid organizations in order to support their efforts to promote economic and human development in these remote regions. Soitec will donate its innovative Plug&Sun™ product, which can be used to generate electricity completely autonomously where it is needed most, to the selected projects.
