From sustainable development to employment for local youth and disabled workers, Soitec’s corporate social responsibility policy focuses on issues in which our business has a direct stake. The Soitec Code of Conduct sets forth the behaviors expected of Soitec employees both within the company and in their relationships with the wider community.
Sustainable development — especially its environmental aspects — plays a pivotal role in Soitec’s corporate social responsibility policy. As an ISO 14001-certified company, we are committed to reducing our water and energy consumption and limiting the impacts of our activities on natural habitats.
We also take our commitments to society very seriously, with an active diversity policy to promote gender equality in the workplace and the employment of disabled and senior workers and workers from at-risk populations. Soitec was among the first companies to sign internal and national agreements and charters in support of these issues.
From employing the disabled and ensuring gender equality to protecting the environment: at Soitec, social responsibility takes many forms.
At Soitec we believe in the local community that has supported our growth. In the space of just a few years, our company has hired around a hundred young operators and technicians from in and around Grenoble. Each year, we provide some 50 students with internships.
Soitec has signed a number of industry agreements like the Electronic Industry Code of Conduct (EICC) and Sony’s Green Partner agreement, which prohibits the use of certain substances deemed harmful to the environment and employee health.
