Co-founder and CEO of Soitec. Mr. Auberton-Hervé earned a PhD in physics at France’s Ecole centrale de Lyon. He started his scientific career at CEA-Leti, where he oversaw new technology development and transfer to Thomson CSF. He left Leti to found Soitec with Jean-Michel Lamure in 1992.
Mr. Auberton-Hervé sits on the boards of several organizations, including the French National Association for Technical Research (ANRT), the French National Institute of Electronics and Radioelectricity of Grenoble (Ecole nationale supérieure d’électronique et de radio-électricité), and industry association SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International).
As Soitec Chief Operating Officer, Paul Boudre’s responsibilities cover industrial operations, business development, strategic marketing, R&D, quality, procurement, and IT for all businesses. He joined the company in 2007.
A semiconductor-industry veteran of more than 30 years, Mr. Boudre gained extensive international experience through his previous positions managing industrial operations for IBM Semiconductor, STMicroelectronics, Motorola Semiconductor, and Atmel. From 1997 to 2006, he managed European operations for KLA-Tencor, one of the world's top five semiconductor equipment manufacturers. He was subsequently appointed Vice President for both the US and Europe.
Mr. Boudre holds a graduate degree in chemistry from France’s Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Toulouse.
Iain Murray was appointed to the position of Senior Executive Vice President Strategic Alliances in 2009. His role is to oversee and bring to fruition the Company’s plans to invest in strategic partnerships across a wide range of new markets beyond the traditional microprocessor domain.
He joined Soitec in 1996 as Chief Financial Officer and has played an integral role in the Company’s development, including the original far-reaching agreement with SEH, the Company’s initial public offering, and all subsequent financial transactions on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Iain Murray holds a law degree from Cambridge University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Olivier Brice was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Soitec in September 2009. He first joined the company in 2005 to manage investor relations and financial communications.
Mr. Brice launched his professional career as a banker, and then moved to industry, joining Carbone Lorraine (Mersen), where he worked in investor relations and, later, led the company’s corporate treasury and some finance divisions. Previously, he held a management position at financial communication firm Gavin Anderson & Co.
Mr. Brice holds a degree in management and is an alumnus of IEP Paris.
Corinne Margot joined Soitec in 1996 as Executive Vice President, Human Resources. She was appointed Executive Vice President, Corporate Communications in 2008, and has since led Soitec’s corporate communications strategies targeting both employees and stakeholders outside the company.
Prior to joining Soitec, Corinne Margot was employed by a human resources consulting firm where she managed human resources for several high-tech companies on a shared-time basis. She had previously managed recruitment and career development at leading semiconductor design company Matra MHS.
Corinne Margot holds post-graduate degree both in law and in business administration.
As executive vice-president of Solar Energy Division, Gaetan Borgers oversees the expansion of Soitec’s concentrator photovoltaic activities.
He has 20 years’ experience in the industry, including more than 10 years in charge of solar programs. He has established the Solar Division and managed the sales, marketing and technical support activities in Dow Corning. He also oversaw the opening of a new manufacturing plant in Brazil and coordinated the development of partnerships with prominent technology institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems. Gaetan Borgers also has an extensive international experience, having lived and exercised his professional responsibilities in Europe, the United States and Japan.
Borgers holds a master’s degree in chemical process engineering and a MBA from Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium.
Christophe Maleville has been Senior Vice President of Soitec’s Microelectronics BU since 2010.
He joined Soitec in 1993 and was a driving force behind the company’s joint research activities with CEA-Leti. For several years, he led new SOI process development, oversaw SOI technology transfer from R&D to production, and managed customer certifications. He also served as Vice President, SOI Products Platform at Soitec, working closely with key customers worldwide.
Christophe Maleville has authored or co-authored more than 30 papers and also holds some 20 patents. He has a PhD in microelectronics from Grenoble Institute of Technology and obtained an Executive MBA from INSEAD.
Frédéric Dupont has managed Soitec’s Specialty Electronics business for radiofrequency, power management, and optoelectronics since 2009. This includes GaAs activities at the Paris Sud site, as well as the development of new GaN-based products.
For ten years, he has supervised the development of innovative engineered microelectronic and optoelectronic substrates. He oversaw several strategic programs, notably the development of new technologies for high-power LEDs. Before joining Soitec, he was a research scientist at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH (United States).
Frédéric Dupont holds an engineering degree in materials sciences from INSA (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) in Lyon and a business administration degree from IAE (Institut d’Administration des Entreprises) in Grenoble.
Bernard Aspar founded CEA-Leti spinoff Tracit Technologies in 2003. He was appointed Senior Vice President of the Tracit Division (now the Layer Transfer Solutions Division) when Soitec acquired Tracit in 2006.
He has more than 15 years of experience in direct wafer-bonding and layer transfer. Prior to founding Tracit, he worked at CEA-Leti where he spearheaded the development of Smart Cut™ technology and ran a film and circuit transfer lab.
Bernard Aspar has filed more than 35 patents and co-authored some 100 scientific articles. He holds engineering and PhD degrees in materials sciences and a master’s degree in microelectronics from the University of Montpellier, France.
Carlos Mazure has led the development of strategic advanced technologies at Soitec since 2001. He works closely with academic research labs and Soitec customers and suppliers to develop new applications for Soitec’s Smart Cut™ technology.
Prior to joining Soitec, Carlos Mazure served as Executive Vice President, Business Development at Infineon Technologies AG, where he was involved with the IBM-Infineon DRAM Development Alliance. His experience also includes work on BiCMOS-on-SOI high-performance components at Motorola Corp.
Carlos Mazure has filed more than 90 patents worldwide and is the author of 150 scientific papers. He holds two PhDs in physics, one from the University of Grenoble, France, and the other from the Technical University of Munich, Germany.
