Soitec’s Board of Directors counts eight members and one observer selected for their management expertise and proven track records in the global semiconductor industry.
André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé is co-founder and CEO of Soitec. Mr. Auberton-Hervé earned a PhD in physics at France’s Ecole centrale de Lyon. He started his scientific career at CEA-Leti, where he oversaw new technology development and transfer to Thomson CSF. He left Leti to found Soitec with Jean-Michel Lamure in 1992. Mr. Auberton-Hervé sits on the boards of several organizations, including the French National Association for Technical Research (ANRT), the French National Institute of Electronics and Radioelectricity of Grenoble (Ecole nationale supérieure d’électronique et de radio-électricité), and industry association SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International).
Douglas Dunn boasts 40 years of experience in electronics, 32 of which are in the semiconductor industry. He earned a Higher National Qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the College of Advanced Technology, Sheffield University. Mr. Dunn served for six years as CEO of Dutch-based photolithography equipment manufacturer ASML. Previously, he held positions as CEO of Philips’ Semiconductors and Consumer Electronics Divisions, as well as executive positions with Motorola Semiconductors and GEC-Plessey Semiconductors.
Fumisato Hirose has spent his entire career at Shin Etsu Group. With a degree in Economics from Japan’s Keio University, Mr. Hirose has held positions in human resources, purchasing, and international sales and marketing at two Shin Etsu companies. Since 1997 he has served as CEO of UK-based Shin Etsu Handotai (SEH) Europe Limited, a subsidiary of the leading global supplier of semiconductor silicon.
Didier Lamouche is a graduate of France’s Ecole centrale de Lyon and holds a PhD in semiconductor technology. He has spent the better part of his career in the semiconductor industry, where, most notably, he headed the Siemens IBM Advanced Memory program, served as Director of Advanced Operations at Motorola Toulouse, and ran IBM France’s Microelectronics Division. His more recent positions include CEO of Altis Semiconductor, Vice President Worldwide Semiconductor Manufacturing for IBM’s Microelectronics Division in the United States, and, from 2004 to 2010, CEO of Bull. In 2010 he joined STMicroelectronics as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Lamouche also sits on the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee at STMicroelectronics and is an independent director and chairman of the Compensation & Nomination Committee at Atari.
Joseph Martin is Chairman of the Board of Directors at Brooks Automation Corporation and a Member of the Board at SynQor, Inc. Mr. Martin earned his MBA from the University of Maine and was named CFO Magazine’s CFO of the Year in 2000. Mr. Martin has 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Most notably he held a number of positions at Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation, serving as CFO, Member of the Office of the Chairman, Executive Vice President, Senior Executive Vice President, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, a position he held until he left Fairchild in 2006.
